Destination

Life is a journey. Only a select handful of people know their destination, how to get there, why it is important to get there and are committed to do whatever necessary to get there. Very few people know their destination and the importance of getting there but may not know how to get there or are not fully committed to do whatever it takes. Lot of people know what their destination is but have no idea on how to get there.  But, majority of us have no clue what the destination is.  If ignorance is bliss, this majority should be blissful.  Unfortunately, that is not so.  These are the lost souls.

Some of us lost souls get off the train (or take an exit off the highway; if you prefer driving to riding a train) in search of a destination.  We are not sure if that is our destination.  However, at the beginning we are very excited and happy to see new scenery. This would be short lived if it is not our destination. In this process we would have wasted precious time.  At this juncture we have two options

  1. To get back on the train (highway) in search of the right destination
  2. To continue this path and live unhappily ever after

Majority of us are suffering from the later.  We do not get back and search for the right destination for various reasons.  Most important reason is that we lack the will power to continue the pursuit of happiness.

Im losing myself
trying to compete
With everyone else
Instead of just being me

Dont know where to turn
Ive been stuck in this routine
I need to change my ways
Instead of always being weak

(Believe in Me – Demi Lovato)

Whatever awaits us at destination is “destiny”. So, destiny is not some thing predetermined. It is a result of various choices we made throughout the journey.  If we take wrong exit, we end up with wrong “destiny”.  I wonder where God comes into picture.

So, my friend, do not worry about the destination, make the journey enjoyable to you and to all the co-passengers.
